About SR&ED Copilot

Private BetaHalifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Who operates this

SR&ED Copilot is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

This product is currently in private beta. Operator identity will be updated here when the operating entity is finalized.

Why this exists

Canadian software companies doing real R&D often have weak SR&ED documentation. Not because the work is bad, but because the evidence is scattered across Git, Jira, Slack, and people's heads. By the time year-end arrives, teams scramble to reconstruct what happened and why.

SR&ED Copilot exists to make that less painful. It helps you capture evidence during the year, organize what you have at year-end, draft T661 narratives from real records, and package everything for your accountant to review and file.

What problem it solves

  • Evidence is spread across tools and not organized for SR&ED
  • Year-end reconstruction is stressful and produces weaker claims
  • T661 narratives take hours to draft and often lack proper evidence links
  • Teams don't know what's missing until their accountant asks for it
  • There is no system of record connecting R&D work to claim support

What it does not do

SR&ED Copilot is a preparation tool. It is explicitly not:

  • A tax advisor or SR&ED consultant
  • An eligibility determination service
  • A filing tool — it does not submit anything to CRA
  • A replacement for your accountant's professional judgment
  • A guarantee that your claim will be accepted

Everything this tool produces is a draft. Your accountant reviews, edits, and files. See our Disclaimer for the full statement.

How a cautious team can pilot this safely

If you are evaluating SR&ED Copilot and want to minimize risk:

  1. Start with manual upload only. You do not need to connect GitHub, Jira, or Slack. Enter evidence manually to test the workflow without granting any third-party access.
  2. Use a single past project as a test case. Pick one completed project you know well. Enter its evidence, generate a draft narrative, and compare the output to what you would have written manually.
  3. Show the output to your accountant. Ask them whether the draft narrative, evidence organization, and export format would save them time or improve the support package.
  4. Review integration scopes before connecting. If you decide to connect tools, check exactly what data access is requested. You can disconnect at any time from Settings.
  5. Export and delete. You can export all your data and delete your account at any time. Nothing is locked in.
